Comparison for procurement

Rating or primary data? The purpose decides.

A rating sums up a supplier in one number or medal. ZEROvia provides the data behind it, per section and item, and your procurement team assesses it with its own criteria. Both have their place.

What your customer sees

Example. Switch sections on and off per customer. Without sharing, a buyer only sees your public profile. Data instead of a rating: no score, no medal.

When what fits

Rating for the top, data for the breadth.

A rating fits if

You need one yardstick for everyone.

  • strategic suppliers are already rated anyway
  • You want to compare thousands of suppliers on one scale
  • Your risk screening requires an external assessment

ZEROvia fits if

You need data from SMEs.

  • SME suppliers won't pay for or reject a rating
  • You need primary data for Scope 3 and PCF
  • You want to assess with your own criteria
  • Suppliers should be able to use their data more than once

Primary data from SMEs, without a rating.

CHF 6,900 per year including 5 suppliers, then CHF 390 per supplier with data sharing.

Why breadth matters

The gap lies behind direct suppliers.

242 %

of surveyed companies have full transparency over direct suppliers; one tier further down, 2%.

57 %

name a lack of supply chain transparency as the biggest ESG hurdle.

Frequently asked questions

Does ZEROvia replace our rating?
Not necessarily. You can keep a rating for strategic suppliers and use ZEROvia to obtain primary data from the rest, mostly smaller suppliers.
Does ZEROvia rate suppliers?
No. ZEROvia does not issue scores, bands or maturity levels. You receive shared data with evidence and assess it using your criteria.
What do our suppliers pay?
Nothing, if you invite them. In the pilot they use Climate & Compliance Basis for 90 days.
Does this also apply under the value chain cap from 2027?
Yes. For your CSRD report you may only request the information of the voluntary standard from suppliers with up to 1,000 employees. ZEROvia is built for this standard. More in the article Value-Chain-Cap.
